Thing 19

I didn't have the opportunity (being out for 2 and a half weeks) to explore GoodReads in as much depth as what I would have liked, but what I saw appealed to me. It's nice to have social networks out there with a purpose beyond simply getting the 411 on someone else or reconnecting. Not that the latter is a bad thing (the former's kinda nosy :)), it's just interesting to see social networking that is subject-based...to be able to converse with other book-lovers and to get new ideas of the books out there to buy and/or read. Very valuble for a librarian, I would think.

As I said, I didn't get a chance to explore it in depth to see how respectful others are of each other's opinions, but that aside, I would definitely like to check out this website more in the future, and possibly join, commenting on some of the teen books I've really enjoyed and see what others think are "must buys/reads" that I might purchase for the library. :)
